Sunday in the Park with Bry
You don’t get many 57 degree days in February in Colorado and it looks as thought we’re going to get a whole week of it. So yesterday Bry and I put on our light jacket and went for a walk in the park. As we were parking we saw a fat squirrel coming down the tree to eat a biscuit that was left behind. Then all of a sudden a prairie falcon fly down right in front of us to take the biscuit. That squirrel ran quickly up that tree but kept a careful eye on his biscuit. As we got out of the truck we heard then saw two black birds squawking in anger who also had laid claims on the biscuit. We just had to take a minute to watch this beautiful bird as he hopped over to claim his food, with a carefully eye on us just five feet away from him. As we walked off I turned to see him grab the biscuit with his tightly gripped claws and fly off only to have the biscuit crumble into pieces and fall to the ground. He then perched on the light post looking down at his biscuit in disappointment, as black birds squawking all the more in delight and the fat squirrel only happy to not be on his menu.
Art was added to the park since our last visit! Can’t began to tell you how happy this makes me! Three Wind sculptures (or as I like to call them whirligigs) are along the path, the larges one can also be powered by man. So I put Bry’s muscles to work! Isn’t it beautiful! But it could use a little oil. 😉
It was a wonderful day at the park with Bry!
